This French dessert consists of perfectly pared apple halves snuggly nestled in a deep-dish pie pan. To serve, the tart is flipped out of the pan directly onto the serving dish. A traditional tarte tatin (tart tah-TAN) is an upside-down one-crust pie filled with caramelized apples. Apples are caramelized in butter and sugar on the stove, topped with pastry, and finished in the oven. If any apples stick to the bottom of the skillet, simply remove them and place them on the tart. Tarte Tatin is a delicious caramelized apple tart that is at once rustic and Parisian chic. Remove from heat and immediately invert onto a serving dish.Place over the top of the apples and tuck the edges of the crust into the sides, then bake for 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. ![]()
